I recently started using a program called You Need A Budget and one of the things built into this program is to reconcile your accounts.

I’ll admit until I started using this program due to online banking I never saw the need to doing this…but it’s really an actual nice feature. One thing is all the reconciled transactions get “locked” and I can hide them so it makes it easier to see my current transactions.

Last month my bank balance and budget balance was $20 off. I just stuck an “adjustment” in my budget but couldn’t for the life of me figure it out. Well when I reconciled at the end of the month I found the missing $20 (two $10 atm withdrawls).
